Description du contenu de l'enseignement

Objectives in terms of knowledge :

• Mendelian Transmission - Factors Affecting Gene Distribution - Non-Mendelian Characters
• DNA instability
• Mutations and polymorphism - Exchange between repetitive sequences - Pathogenic mutations
• Introduction to genetic markers
• Genetic mapping
• Identification of the genes responsible for diseases
• Multi-factorial diseases - Genetic tests
• Animal models of human pathologies
• Examples of molecular pathologies
• Gene Therapy and Cancer Therapy
• Genetic fingerprints, molecular anthropology
• Molecular embryology

Compétences à acquérir

Objectives in terms of skills :
• Students must acquire a global and reasoned vision of the contributions of molecular genetics to the understanding of the pathology of patients with both hereditary and acquired genetic diseases ( and cancers). In each case, the basic concepts will be recalled and illustrated by guest speakers
