Description du contenu de l'enseignement

In this course the student should acquire the basic knowledge in computational solid mechanics (CSM):
  • Setup a grid and solve a solid mechanics problem;
  • Presentation of different finite element codes (commercial and open-source codes);
  • Presentation of examples in structural analyses and material mechanics. Static and dynamical approaches;
  • Applications from industrial and research examples;
  • Concerning the CSM project: the goal is to be able to handle entirely a numerical solid mechanics problem : bibliography, mesh generation, computation, visualisation and results presentation.

Compétences à acquérir

  • Solve a solid mechanics problem from the geometry to the simulation and the physical interpretation of the results.
